Spyshots: Volkswagen Lavida
Beijing, 080408. Volkswagen's first 'China only' car. made in joint venture with SAIC, must compete in the luxury compact segment. It's based on the Volkswagen Bora but 100mm longer, it will compete with cars such as the
new Buick Excelle, which is much more a prenium car than it's predecessor. The Lavida will be priced at around 100.000 yuan, that's 14.300 dollar. Engine will very likely be a 2.0 and possibly a 1.8 as well.
It's going to be a bit busy in Volkswagen's line-up, the brand already got a lot of sedans, the Passat, the Sagitair, the Bora and the Magotan, not
to mention the golden oldies as the Jetta, Santana, Santana 3000 and Santana Vista.
