Beijing Autoshow Live: Landwind Fenghua Sport

280408, Beijing Autoshow. Landwind brought their brandnew Fenghua Sport to the show, it is a sporty version of the existing Landwind Sedan, which is the to the point English name for the Fenghua. Fenghua is best translated as 'Wind (from) China'.

Landwind is a brand from the Jiangling Motor Holding which builds the Landwinds together with giant Changan Motors. Other products from Landwind include several SUV's en MPV's.

The Fenghua is as many 'classic', not to say old fashioned, Chinese cars a rather boring machine. It has a 1.5 liter 4 cilinder fast enough to outrun most tractors.

Sales are down because the car has the same price, around 7000 dollar, as a much more modern Chery or Geely. To change all that Landwind gives this sportversion to the world, is has a nice load of spoilers stripes and stickers, sporty wheels and off course a fake diffuser.

Nothing changed on the engine however so the added weight will problably make the car slower, but Chinese people like this kind of fancy rubbish so Landwind might actually be able to sell a few before they kill the Fenghua altogether.

They had a very nice girl promoting it and except for me she was the only one looking at the car, all a bit sad so I decided to give her some extra space on this website.
