Beijing Auto Show 2008 LIVE: Geely TX4 London Taxi Hotrod

210408, Beijing Auto Show. Geely aquired the rights to produce the legendary London Taxi in China, it's actually a doughtercompany of Geely called Shanghai LTi Automobile Components that builds the taxi.

For this story I will just use Geely, since that's the Boss and that name is on the car. To show what can be done with a TX4 Geely made a very cool hotrod version of the TX4. It has super wide tyres, sidesteps, a lot of extra chrome and a huge dvd-screen in the back. 'LTC' on the badges stands for London Taxi Company but it cannot be used there since the steeringwheel is on the wrong side.

The engine didn't change, it's still a 2.5 liter diesel made by Italian firm VM Motori. The normal TX4 was at the stand as well, it looked very dull compared to the Hotrod. The normal car is for sale in China now for taxi fleets and the Hotrod might help to get Chinese taxidrivers out of their Jetta's.
