Beijing Auto Show 2008 LIVE: FAW TFC-M1 & TFC-M2
230408, Beijing Autoshow. FAW, First Auto Works, showed a serie of compact citycars called the TFC-H1, TFC-W, TFC-M1 and TFC-M2.
The M1 is a sedan and the M2 a hatchback, both meant to compete in the already busy citycar segment in China. Since still more Chinese people can afford a car it is this segment
that will grow fastest the coming years and that's why almost every major manufacturer came with it's own range of minicars
The M's will be on the market the first half of 2009, engine is a clean EuroIV 1.3 liter 4 cilinder with a 5 speed manual gearbox. Size: 3750x1670x1515, wheelbase is 2448.
They look fine enough, especially the hatch, but only next year we will know whether they are cool enough for this extremely hot market.
