Beijing Auto Show 2008 LIVE: FAW Besturn B50

210408, Beijing Auto Show. Just like competitor SAIC is building it's own Roewe brand, the other Chinese giant FAW is doing exactly the same with the Besturn range under the FAW umbrella.

The B50 is the second car in the range next to the more expensive B70. The B50 will compete head to head with the Roewe 550, that means the price of both cars will problably go down as soon as they are on the market, which will be soon.

Personallly I think the 550 looks better and more modern, the B70 has a more 'classic' kind of shape. The way of showing the car was different in the same way, Roewe used a lot of light and sound effects and had beautifull displays on the stand. At the FAW boot is was all a bit more sober, the new car was standing on the floor between it's older brothers and next to the Mazda 6 where it is based on.

All a bit less fun at FAW, let's hope the car will do better in the market. Engines: 1.8 and 2.0. Price as the Roewe, from around 16.000 dollar, for now.







This is the newest addition to the B70, it's called the B70S, in case you can't guess what that means look at the bicyle on the roof.
