<p>A very nice model of the now famous Hongqi CA7600L. Scale is 1:43, diecast, and I bought is for only 35rmb in a toy store near my home. For such a small sum the car is very wel detailled and everything fits together fine. A minor drawback are the flagpoles, mirrors and microphones. Cheap toys like this don&#8217;t come in boxes so parts that are vunarable are usually made of flexible rubber. Fine for sure but I couldn&#8217;t get the flagpoles to rise up again.</p>
<p><span id="more-2137"></span></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2139" title="hongqi-ca7600L-show-1ht" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/hongqi-ca7600L-show-1ht.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="343" /></p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.thetycho.com/beijing-auto-show-live-faw-hongqi-ca7600l/" target="_blank">CA7600L</a> at the Beijing Auto Show. This is the very car used by president Hu Jintao at the 1-October militairy parade in Beijing.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2140" title="hongqi-ca7600L-show-1ht2" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/hongqi-ca7600L-show-1ht2.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="272" /></p>
<p>Here he is, wearing a traditional &#8216;Mao-suit&#8217;. These suits are by la way no longer cheap and made of horrible materials. New Mao-suits can be tailor-made and prices range to thousands of dollars.</p>
<p>Hu Jintao inspected the troops, technically before the actual parade begun. He drove up and down the street where the troops were waiting while shouting things like &#8220;Are you ready to defend the motherland?&#8221; trough the microphones. The soldiers would answer &#8220;Yes!!!&#8221; and so on and on.</p>
<p>The microphones streamed the sound wireless to speakers all around Tiananmen and trough television to all China. It was very silent on the streets in Beijing during Hu and the parade. I watched the proceedings at a shopping center down town that has a huge tv-screen outside:</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.chinablog.nl/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/parade_china_2-450x337.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="340" /></p>
<p>Hu in the CA7600L inspecting the troops.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.chinablog.nl/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/parade_china_8-450x337.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="344" /></p>
<p>Some friends.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2141" title="hongqi-modelcar-2" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/hongqi-modelcar-2-458x281.jpg" alt="" width="461" height="283" /></p>
<p>The real car has a 5.985 litre 300kw V12, torque is 580nm@3500nm. Size is 6395mmX2008mmX1720, wheelbase is 3800mm.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2142" title="hongqi-modelcar-3" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/hongqi-modelcar-3-458x331.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="331" /></p>
<p>The chrome is nicely done although not very shiny. It can&#8217;t be because it is made out of rubber again instead out of plastic. Guess it saves money as well. But scale is all right everywhere and parts come together fine.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2143" title="hongqi-modelcar-4" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/hongqi-modelcar-4-458x317.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="317" /></p>
<p>Rubber indeed. A presidet stands trough the open roof and holds the handbar just in front of the microphones. The 2009 parade was the first time four microphones were used, at the &#8216;99 parade and others before it was either three or only two.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2144" title="hongqi-modelcar-5" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/hongqi-modelcar-5-458x359.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="359" /></p>
<p>Dash well done for the money, red carpet-stickers nice touch.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-2145" title="hongqi-modelcar-6" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/hongqi-modelcar-6-458x369.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="369" /></p>
<p>There is no mechanism to keep the hood open so I used a part of a tootpick. A used one that is, we all have to help to save mama earth. Mighty V12 seems turbocharged, the real one isn&#8217;t, as far as I know. Nice red touches again. Good model, good car.</p>

<p>Today we have a very nicely done 1:43 model of the Beijing 212. This military version is called T75 -105. &#8216;T75&#8242; is an army number, &#8216;105&#8242; stands for the size of the gun, 105mm is it. The model did me 35 rmb in a local supermarket in my street. The white star is not Chinese, I guess the toymaker looked at America for that one.</p>
<p><span id="more-384"></span></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-386" title="beijing-mili-jeep-toy-6" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/beijing-mili-jeep-toy-6-458x374.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="374" /></p>
<p>The real one at the China Military Museum here in Beijing, the window had a split so the gunners could aim low if needed, the toy ain&#8217;t got that, 35 rmb doesn&#8217;t buy such attention to detail. The T75 is no longer in use in the Chinese army but the 212, without the gun, still is, mostly as a utility vehicle.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-388" title="beijing-mili-jeep-toy-2" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/beijing-mili-jeep-toy-2-458x292.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="292" /></p>
<p>Four doors while the real T75 had only two. Toymaker also makes an civilian 212, which I will show you later, and that one indeed had four doors. The white rims on the wheels were not in use in the army, the enemy might see those at night, but were used when the T75 attended the annual military parade in Beijing.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-387" title="beijing-mili-jeep-toy-3" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/beijing-mili-jeep-toy-3-458x346.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="346" /></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-389" title="beijing-mili-jeep-toy-4" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/beijing-mili-jeep-toy-4-458x412.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="412" /></p>
<p>The dash is nicely done, but toymaker didn&#8217;t bother to get the back seats out. Bullits don&#8217;t look 105mm, external fuel tank a fine touch.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-390" title="beijing-mili-jeep-toy-5" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/beijing-mili-jeep-toy-5-458x535.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="535" /></p>
<p>The nicest feauture is the gun: it can move up for a true artillery bombardment. That&#8217;ll teach those capitalist a lesson they won&#8217;t forget soon.</p>

<p>Found on a website called <a href="http://www.mobilephonesdaily.com/car-mobile-phone-bugatti-hood/" target="_blank">Mobilephonedaily</a>, they call this one the &#8216;Bugatti HOOD&#8217;. A little extract from the site:</p>
<p>&#8220;Bugatti HOOD quad-band handshaking cool racing bike touch screen dual sim cards luxury car mobile phone&#8221;.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-295" title="bugatti-mobile-phone-china-01a" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/bugatti-mobile-phone-china-01a-458x401.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="401" /></p>
<p>Loox like it came from the same factory as Topspeed&#8217;s yellow car, the factory&#8217;s name remains unknown. That happens a lot in China &#8217;cause the management is scared the west might send some lawyers in. These days they actually might win in a Chinese court. The times indeed, are a-changing.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-296" title="bugatti-mobile-phone-china-01b" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/bugatti-mobile-phone-china-01b-458x407.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="407" /></p>
<p>Very cool, the menu is made to like like a speedo. It goes to 400, that is correct, well done.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-297" title="bugatti-mobile-phone-china-02" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/bugatti-mobile-phone-china-02-458x413.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="413" /></p>
<p>MobilephoneDaily does not sat what it costs, but 200 dollar is too much for sure, this kind of phones usually goes for a 100 in China.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-298" title="bugatti-mobile-phone-china-5" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/bugatti-mobile-phone-china-5.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="151" /></p>
<p>The yellow car is it&#8217;s box, seems available in red and blue as well. This one is 125 dollar plus 45 shipping for a sample, on <a href="http://www1.tradekey.com/selloffer_view/id/2717842.htm" target="_blank">Tradekey</a>.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-299" title="bugatti-mobile-phone-china-5a" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/bugatti-mobile-phone-china-5a-458x334.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="334" /></p>
<p><a href="http://www.diytrade.com/china/4/products/6252014/Bugatti_Car_Phone.html#normal_img" target="_blank">DIYtrade</a> has that Pegaso-special as well, but not the HOOD.</p>

<p>A very nice 1:43 model of a Beijing Beijing-Hyundai taxi, found it for 3 US dollar in the supermarkt in my street. The colors are fine, wheels as the real thing and scale well done. But the panel gaps are a bit on the wide side and Beijing Taxi&#8217;s don&#8217;t have blackened windows. Nevertheless, considering the price a nice addition to my collection.</p>
<p><span id="more-151"></span></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-154" title="taxi-beijing-china-4" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/taxi-beijing-china-4-458x284.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="284" /></p>
<p>No Hyundai &#8216;H&#8217; on the front, Chinese toy makers don&#8217;t like to pay for copyrights. They see that as a waste of time when there are so many more toys to be made.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-155" title="taxi-beijing-china-2" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/taxi-beijing-china-2-458x340.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="340" /></p>
<p>A real Beijing-Hyundai taxi. The join venture also makes a new Elantra but this old one still rolls from the line as a cheap alternative for fleets. Beijing has approximately 15.000 taxi&#8217;s, most of them this Elantra and the rest are VW Jetta&#8217;s and Citroën Fukangs. A brand new &#8216;taxi-Elantra&#8217; costs around 15000 USD but 99% of taxi drivers lease their cars from a taxi company.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-156" title="taxi-beijing-china-5" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/taxi-beijing-china-5-458x336.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="336" /></p>
<p>Left on the plate the character 京, &#8216;jing&#8217;, from 北京, Beijing. Beijing means &#8216;Northern Capital&#8217;, China&#8217;s capital changes many a times trough it&#8217;s history, there is a city called Nanjing as well, that meanse &#8216;Southern Capital&#8217;.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-152" title="taxi-beijing-china-1" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/taxi-beijing-china-1-458x304.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="304" /></p>
<p>A lone Elentra surrounded by two Jetta&#8217;s. Picture taken from my girlfriends&#8217; Chang&#8217;an-Suzuki Swift passenger seat.  On the right a FAW-Audi A6.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-157" title="taxi-beijing-china-6" src="http://www.thetycho.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/taxi-beijing-china-6-458x309.jpg" alt="" width="458" height="309" /></p>
<p>A grood toy makes noise and flashes light, so the Chinese toymanufacturers think. When opening one door the car makes engine noises, like starting it, and the light on the top flashes red. When opening the other door the car makes horn noises, like &#8216;tuut tuut!&#8217;</p>
