The upcoming Beijing Auto (aka Beiqi) C30 is based on the Mercedes-Benz B-class. The B-class was not as succesful as Benz hoped for and will soon be replaced, Beijing Auto bought the rights and production line because it thinks it can do better.

Earlier we saw two C30’s running on the road, this time we get a much closer look. After rebadging the hatchback Beijing Auto will start to be orginal and make a C30 sedan and an electric version. Mercedes-Benz and Beijing Auto have a joint venture called Beijing-Benz, it makes the C-class and E-class for the Chinese market.

We have seen the Roewe W5 many a times before, including once naked, but this is the first time we got two in one frame in the factory. The W5 is based on the SsangYong Kyron, Roewe’s mother-company SAIC still has a large stake in the toubled South Korean outfit. The W5 is sceduled to debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show in December.

The long very long extremely long awaited Chery-Riich Z5 will debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show in December. The Riich Z5 started life as Chery A6CC. Today we have a couple of leaked pictures, likely from a brochure. They show two new things: an extra air inlet on the bonnet and racing stripes. These didn’t show in any of the concept or pre-production cars, maybe they are options to make your Z5 even more cool.

Size: 4615×1821×1394, wheelbase is 2700. Engine a 2.0 turbo with 125kw and 235nm. A V6 will join tha line up later.

The Greatwall Haval H6 debuted as an almost-ready concept at the Beijing Auto Show in April and is now getting ready to hit la market. A little more we know: it will get two engines, a 2.0 and a 2.4, both with permanent 4wd. A 2.5 TCI diesel will be available for export. Price will range from 92.800 to 158.800 yuan. Competition: Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and Hyundai ix35.

The spy shots keep coming but Chery keeps waiting. It seems very much time to bring the new Tiggo to the market. The Tiggo is the sucessor of the Tiggo 3 and Tiggo DR. Engines: 1.6, 1.6 supercharged, 1.8, 2.0 and an 1.9 diesel for export. 5-speed manual, 5-speed auto or VVT, 4×4 or 4×2. Price will start around 90.000 yuan and up to 130.000. Size new Tiggo: 4390×1765x1705. Old car: 4285×1765x1705. Wheelbase stayed at 2510.

The new BMW X3 will make its world wide dubut at the Paris Auto Show in October. The new car has been spied testing in China. This could mean BMW is adjusting some of the cars suspension-settings for China’s rougher roads.

It could also mean BMW will make the X3 in China in its joint venture with Brilliance Automotive. They might make it in China later but not yet, the X1 will see local production first. So likely the new X3 will be imported and car on pics is just busy adjusting settings and set up.

Some foreign websites seem to think the China-X3 has a longer wheelbase compared with the western car. That ain’t correct, the original Chinese article just points out that the new X3 has a longer wheelbase than the old one, which is true indeed.

The Toyota Etios is devloped for emerging world markets, production started in India in Januari. China will get Etios as well, both sedan and hatchback. Toyota applied for a Chinese patents so BYD better watch out this time. The China-made Etios will get the same 1.2 as the India-made car. In China the Etios will compete with many a cheap Chinese machinery and cars like the Chevrolet Sail, price will so start around 50.000 yuan.

The new MG3 is almost ready to roll over the market, here is is again and now in bright yellow. For the first time we have clear pictures of the stylish interior. The MG3 gets an 1.5 litre engine with 108hp and 135nm. Price will start around 70.000 yuan. The production car will likely debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show in December.

Interestingly the MG3 was caught together with a pre-production Roewe W5 suv, this could mean that the MG-brands gets a suv as well. The MG3 will get a sister at Roewe too, called Roewe 250.

The facelifted SAIC-Roewe 750 was expected at the Beijing Auto Show but did not appear. Roewe took another four months to work on it but today it stil didn’t hit la market yet. It though seems almost time now bacause for the first time we got the new car in all its naked glory.

This is the old car. New one has a much more simple ront with less confusing lines and of course bigger front lights as is the fashion these days.

We heard about very big changes in the interior, unfortunately we can’t see that yet. Enginewise all will remain the same: a 1.8 turbo and a 2.5 V6.

The new Shanghai-GM Buick GL8 MPV is based on the Business Concept and will be made alongside the facelifted old Buick GL8. The old car will be sold as an entry-level machine and the new one as a more upmarket and luxurious GL8.

Size of the new GL8: 5278×1985×1809, wheelbase is 3198. Engines: updated version of the 2.4 and 3.0 SIDI V6’s, 6-speed auto. The new GL8 will hit la market within a couple of months.
