Chery QQ3 goes Electric

Chery is rolling out the electric QQ3EV for a pilot project in Hefei, capital of Anhui province. The QQ3EV costs 50.000 yuan from the factory but only 30.000 after subsidies kick in. The car has a range of 100 kilometer and will eventually be sold in the whole country. At the same time Chery is working on the successor of the QQ3, so it is likely that production of the old one will continue for the EV to keep it very cheap.

Chery-Riich Z5 is OUT

The long very long extremely long awaited Chery-Riich Z5 will debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show in December. The Riich Z5 started life as Chery A6CC. Today we have a couple of leaked pictures, likely from a brochure. They show two new things: an extra air inlet on the bonnet and racing stripes. These didn’t show in any of the concept or pre-production cars, maybe they are options to make your Z5 even more cool.
New Chery Tiggo NAKED yet Again

The spy shots keep coming but Chery keeps waiting. It seems very much time to bring the new Tiggo to the market. The Tiggo is the sucessor of the Tiggo 3 and Tiggo DR. Engines: 1.6, 1.6 supercharged, 1.8, 2.0 and an 1.9 diesel for export. 5-speed manual, 5-speed auto or VVT, 4×4 or 4×2. Price will start around 90.000 yuan and up to 130.000. Size new Tiggo: 4390×1765x1705. Old car: 4285×1765x1705. Wheelbase stayed at 2510.

New Chery Tiggo NAKED again

Spy Shots again from an almost ready new Chery Tiggo. Where is Chery waiting for? The small suv was expected to debut at the Beijing Auto Show but it didn’t get there, it is now expected to debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November.
The new Tiggo replaces the Tiggo 3 and Tiggo DR. New car got a very impressive front, in line with all new suv’s coming to la market in recent months. For the first time we got pics of the new interior which loox much better than the old thing:

Confirmed: Chery-Riich Z5 will Debut at Guangzhou Auto Show

It might really happen from December 21 to 27 at the Guangzhou Auto Show: the debut of the long awaited Chery-Riich Z5, formerly known as Chery A6CC. Sources from Chery confirm the new name and debut-date. Size: 4615×1821×1394, wheelbase is 2700. Engine a 2.0 turbo with 125kw and 235nm.

Chery has been working on the A6CC coupe for many years but now it seems finally ready to hit la market. I did write similair sentences many times before so with this one we still need to wait and see. But this example, spotted somewhere near the factory, does look very ready indeed.

Carmaker [Chery] denies spy charge

Chery is in trouble and it loox like US prosecutors will go to the bottom of it. Read on for excellent background article about the case from GlobalTimes, a Chinese government owned magazine:
“China’s largest [independent, domestic] automaker, Chery International, denied charges Monday by US prosecutors who are accusing it of stealing millions of dollars worth of clean energy technology from former engineers of US auto giant General Motors.
The intensified wrangling comes as the US auto industry attempts to recover from poor fiscal performances and shrinking sales.
And analysts are warning Chinese automakers to take intellectual property rights more seriously when competing with their foreign counterparts, as the Chinese firms are vying for more market share worldwide after the country’s car market was crowned the world’s largest last year, surpassing that of the United States.

Spy Shots: Chery Cowin 6 Interior

‘Cowin‘ is a Chery brand positioned between cheap Chery itself and the more expensive Riich brand. The Cowin 6 will be the most expensive Cowin with 2.0. 1.8, 1.8 turbo and 1.6 supercharged engines. We have seen the Cowin 6 testing around before but today we have the first pics of the interior. It seems there is still some work to do…

Chery A6CC NAKED

The upcoming Chery A6CC was seen completely naked while doing a stability test. The car wears a Chery-badge while the car we saw in the latest spy shots had Riich-badges. Chery might make two versions of the car, one called Chery and one called Riich. The coupe will hit la market before the end of the year. Size: 4615×1821×1394, wheelbase is 2700.
