About us
TheTycho.com is based in Beijing and aims to tell the world about the Chinese Automotive Industry. That I do with articles about new cars, spy shots, the industry, politics and much more.
Even though cars are my main subject I like everything on wheels. So if there is some nice news about trucks, vans, busses or trains you will read it here.
The homepage has it all but for easy acces the news is divided by categories, a short journey trough those as they stand today:
Alibaba’s Treasure: Alibaba.com is the biggest trade-website in Asia. It is the place where many small Chinese automobile manufacturers try to sell their wares. Mind now China’s love with copying all they see and you get the picture. Alibaba is not a sponsor of TheTycho.
Industry: the numbers on sales, news on joint ventures, investments, take overs and most important in China: politics.
Police Cars: China has a enormous fleet of all kinds of different police vehicles, so many that a special category seemed in order. And since I truly, oh yeah!, respect the hard work the coppers are doing I thought it right to do something in return, they will love it.
Spotted in China: all kind of special vehicles seen on China’s streets. Most of it is my own work, I love to bycicle around, and the rest is from friends, family, and ‘colleagues’ posting on Chinese websites.
Spy Shots: the very first pictures of new Chinese cars.
Toy Car: I love toys and China makes them all, Chinese love cars so they make a lot of toy cars. I buy loads of those, no one can move freely in my place!, and the nicest ones end up on this website. Next to my own stuff there is some space left for other weird stuff I find on the net.
Brands: the biggest categorie of all with sub-categories for every brand in China. It ain’t so far yet but this baby is growing every day. The ‘brands’ will of course overlap with the subject-orientated categories mentioned above.
About me: because people ask. I am a male, 35 years old, in Beijing for seven years and from The Netherlands. That is a funny little country in Europe also known as Holland where we speak Dutch. It all makes sense if you know the history of the place.
The car in the header is a tin model of a Hongqi CA770.
That’s it for now, enjoy.
